Montego Bay Roundup
Despite the promises by the political functionaries aligned to the Jamaica Labour Party (JLP) and the People’s National Party (PNP) to bring out their supporters today, voting has been extremely slow in western Jamaica.
Unlike in the recent general elections there was a noticeable absence of the party colours. At some polling stations Election Day workers outnumbered voters.
In the Granville area of St. James, Grantley Miller, JLP campaign organiser accused the PNP of ‘vote buying’.
He said a number of JLP supporters were offered money to switch sides. Michael Troupe , the PNP councillor for the Granville division, has however denied those allegations.
