EAC hits back at UPP
THE
ELECTORAL Advisory Committee (EAC), in a statement yesterday,
accused United People's Party (UPP) president, Antonnette
Haughton-Cardenas, of misinforming the media on the issue
of her party's petition which has been rejected by the Committee.
The
petition with 50,000 signatures would have given the party
the right to appoint voter registration scrutineers, says
the EAC. But, the UPP says it also deprives the party of the
right to access other benefits offered to the major political
parties, including access to duty-free cars for campaigning.
