EAC hits back at UPP

THE ELECTORAL Advisory Committee (EAC), in a statement yesterday, accused United People's Party (UPP) president, Antonnette Haughton-Cardenas, of misinforming the media on the issue of her party's petition which has been rejected by the Committee.

The petition with 50,000 signatures would have given the party the right to appoint voter registration scrutineers, says the EAC. But, the UPP says it also deprives the party of the right to access other benefits offered to the major political parties, including access to duty-free cars for campaigning.
